Wifi Wireless signal Shows Full bar, but Internet Explorer, Fire fox displays blank page!
What to do when wireless shows full signal bar on the wireless monitor but yet when opening Internet Explorer, Firefox or your favorite Internet browser, you only get a blank page. Continue reading to see how to resolve the issue.
When you have a computer showing full signal on your wireless monitor and you are unable to browse, two Possibilities:
1. You have a firewall issue
2. The wireless driver has been corrupted.
Firewall issues are very common. If you are using something such as Norton Internet Security or any bundled protection tools that ends with that name (INTERNET SECURITY); that means your protection tool comes with a firewall software.
If you are running windows XP with Service pack2 or greater. You do not need an additional software firewall. All up to date windows operating system comes with built in firewall that offers enough protection against unsolicited connections. Third party Internet Security tools are not the ideal solution for mobile computing, because common user do not know how to deal with them.
The solution to Internet Security issues: Get rid of it. buy an antivirus that gives you the protection you need without the firewall part (avoid buying Internet Security Suite). I would recommend the following products from the following website:
- Bid defender
- Panda Antivirus
Perhaps the wireless driver has been corrupted. You can easily uninstall it and reinstall it again.
Go to Device Manager and expand the Network tree, select the wireless card.
Right click on the wireless card
Click on Uninstall
Once uninstall has been completed, you can now restart the computer or:
Refresh the Device list
Click on Action
Click on Scan for Hardware Changes and let it reinstall the driver.
You can also opt to download the new driver from the manufacturer's web site. A better idea always use up to date drivers.
