Having issues with windows 8, Synaptics touch pad not responding ?
We've seen it. Many laptops that uses the Synaptics Touchpad stops working in Windows 8. This is due to drivers related to the touchpad device. Most modified drivers from different computer manufacturers seems to be incompatible with Windows 8.
Primarily we have seen this issues with Sony VAIOS and some dell computers where the touch pad stops responding in Windows 8. There is no solutions from these vendors, their techical support lacks the ability to correct the issue.
The engineers at Laptop Laboratory found a work around for the touch pad issue in windows 8. In case where there is no updated drivers from the manufacturer of the computer, there are two solutions.
Solution for touchpad issue in Windows 8:
1. uninstall the driver of the touch pad. Restart the computer, Windows 8 will install and use a compatible driver provided by Microsoft.
2. Downoad the drivers directly from Synaptics website: http://www.synaptics.com/resources/drivers
And the 3rd Solution is to edit the Registry, but we don't think you should follow that approach!
